James Freeman
I lost both Mum and Dad within 12 months of each other when I was in my early 30's. My brother and I were very hands on with their treatment and care. It was an extremely difficult period of my life and many of the years since have felt empty without them. So, in 2009 I came up with the concept of Shitbox Rally and in March 2010 I ran our first ever rally. 50 amazing people joined me as we raised funds and then drove from Sydney to Alice Springs via the Oodnadatta Track. I hoped we'd raise $60,000 and we ended up raising $104,000!
I started the rally to honour Mum and Dad. Now, as the years and the rallies have grown we rally for everyone. I am extremely grateful and very lucky to run Box Rallies and to work with incredible people and an amazing community.
What the Box Rallies Team says about James:
“James is a very inspirational person; we love what he has created and it is an absolute privilege to be a part of his team.
We really appreciate the trust and confidence he has in the us to get the job done. He creates a positive and relaxed office environment - we work hard but we also have a lot of fun, particularly on rally!
One of the best things about James is that you know he’ll always have your back.
He is compassionate and we always feel supported by him in and outside of our working lives.”
